A little girl sits on a bench, watching me, a teddy bear in her arms Beside her sits a little boy, his arm behind her, wondering why they were never close The teddy bear looks used, damp with tears, torn with love The parents think her a mistake, a piece of the past they can't easily erase So they come from behind, take her by the hand; lead her away from the bench and the boy She tries to resist, pulling with all her strength, but her tiny arms are just too weak She doesn't want to leave the bench; she doesn't want to leave the little boy so she cries She reaches out for him, trying to grasp his tiny hands, but can't and drops her bea
